Wednesday 4/9

Today, post-Oathbreaker being awake until 3 am, I stole a Tweek hoodie from tOM to wear home and have decided that it is too comfy and I like it too much to take off. I think I'm in love with it. If you haven't checked Tweek out yet you really should.

Photobucket

And the back

Photobucket

Get it at tweekclothing.com

And, under the hoodie, this:

Photobucket

I love these blue leggings so, so much and they are almost disintegrated beyond the point of continued wear. Oh, H and M...

Saturday 4/5

tOM finally got home, yay!

Photobucket

Us kissing while making breakfast and reading the paper. Awww.

So there's this indian grocery store on Craig that I sometimes get samosa from, and today I discovered they have juice boxes of my favorite guava juice!!! I LOVE JUICE BOXES! I love cupcakes more, obviously, but juice boxes are pretty freakin' great.

Photobucket

Annnnd I wore that today. Cute enough. My boobs looked ridiculous, which was amusing because I usually look like a boy but today i was like "why hello there, world, have you met my breasts yet? Let me introduce you!"

Today i did the whole just rolled out of bed sexy eye make-up thing:

Photobucket

And, most excitingly, Andy's film in City Paper!!!

Photobucket

Not fashion related per se, but if you come see it on Tuesday i'm sure I'll be looking fabulous. I want to get a bunch of people to go with me dressed as our best impersonation of the GOP...

Tuesday 4/1

This is from lastnight:

Photobucket

I love this picture. It's so fun and youthful and carefree, and it so perfectly sums up exactly what i was feeling at that moment.

And, this is today:

Photobucket

You know, for getting 5 hours of sleep, getting ready in 10 minutes, working 9 hours and being sick as hell, a bitch don't look half bad. Look around Oakland. Most people don't look this good when they TRY.

Monday 3/31

Sunday was a total bust. Trust me.

Photobucket

Today isn't so bad. I like this hat. Andy Horbal calls it a "bunny" hat because it is soft much like a bunny.

Saturday 3/29

Even on my death bed I still look fabulous.

datVikings Endorses: Tweek Clothing

So one of the things I'd like to do with this blog is endorse products/make-up/clothing/models/fashion houses related to overall looking good that I happen to enjoy. The inaugural endorsement is hereby given to:

tweekclothing.com

Now, I admit that I'm a bit biased because my man-piece is a model, but seriously, Tweek has neat stuff. I think my favorite designs are the robot with the foil "grill" and the green shirt with the zombie-esque girl with diamond eyes. I hung out with the guy behind Tweek, Jamal, and he's an awesome guy who you would probably never think secretly (or not so secretly?) has an awesome clothing line. And, Tweek is based in Pgh so you should rep the home city, I would suggest doing so in the Pitt City Hardcore shirt.

tweekclothing.com

Check it out.

Friday 3/28

So! After a 10 day or so hiatus, i'm back and better than ever. Hiatus was due primarily to being too busy to blog and falling in love (the two were very much connected, as i'm sure you can imagine). The culprit for my l-word dropping is tOM, an adorable boy I met at 7-Eleven one day and haven't been able to get rid of since ;)

Photobucket

Us being adorable.

In the mean time, I recently bleached my hair again, and it turned out awesome. Proof:

Photobucket

It's perfectly feathery and not real looking, just like i always wanted.

And here's my outfit today:

I wasn't wearing the hoodie dress all day, but wore it to go home. I had a lackluster 7-11 polo underneath.

Photobucket

Tights = awesome.

Friday 3/14

Hung out with Julian and poured over the spring ready-to-wear collections for HOURS. It was amazing.

Photobucket

Very 80's. The vest hoodie thing is from Target and fits much better than you'd think something from Target would fit.

Friday 3/7

Did tech stuff all day.

Photobucket

Hard at work wiring stuff :)

Ended up hanging out with Library this evening. A good time was had by all.

Thursday 3/7

So today Running Boy and I more or less had a fight, though it's hard to tell since it was via text messaging and ended with him coming to Kiva Han. I guess we're okay. Who can tell.

Monday 3/3

Today it was 65ish degrees outside and sunny and wonderful! I celebrated by wearing Japanese street-style inspired clothing:

Photobucket

I especially like how the yellow-green fishnets look.

Today I got up early, wrote a peice for my Readings class about Running Boy, met with Julian and did my lighting project in which he got to be a Phenomenal Woman. The project was awesome, further proof my ass must be made of gold because everything I pull out of it seems to work out just fine.

After class I met with AMD, who said i might get to Master Electrician one of the Angels in America shows next year. Happiness. After that i randomly met one of Running Boy's roommates, James. James reminds me so much of BRF that it's ridiculous, and it made me nostalgic for freshman year in a weird way. Class was fine, library'd with Julian for most of the night (and ran into Dan Must Blog!!!) and then, on my walk home, magic.

Running Boy's apt is between my apt and campus, so we quickly visited around 12:30 am. There was lots of kissing, lots of happiness and lots of the kinds of little moments that made relationships worth having. Met the rest of his roommates, and he wasn't even shy about kissing me goodbye in front of them. Progress, indeed.

I ate:
-Kiva Han nachos
-LOTS of iced coffee
-Sugar free red bull
-1/2 sweet bean hummus sandwich from Eat Unique
-Tomato feta basil soup from Eat Unique
-huuuge carrot cake muffin from Eat Unique, which was actually fairly disappointing

I listened to:
Brittany Spears- Blackout (!!!)

I read:
About Nazi German cinema.

Sunday 3/2

Today I woke up far too early, worked, Kiva Han'd and striked American Clock. Loooong awful day.

I was super dirty for most of the day, so I'll spare you the full length, but here is an adoreable picture, featuring my sparkly yellow headband:

Photobucket

I did this cool thing with green eyeshadow and put it under my eyes instead of on my eyelids. It was sort of creepy.

And, since i'm actually writing this on Tuesday, I don't really remember what I ate.

I didn't listen to any music today.

Or watch anything of note

Or read anything. It was all work work work!

Saturday, March 1, 2008

Saturday 3/1

This is what I wore today:

Photobucket

I love love love the grey American Apparel pillowcase-esque dress. See, Running Boy took this picture and as he is not as skilled as i am in the art of hold the iphone steady, it is blurry-ish. But he's cute, so we forgive him.

Speaking of cute, take a look at these kids!

Photobucket

Awww..

Today I kinda just hung out around oakland all day until it was hang out with Running Boy time. He came over, we made food, we talked all night and... yeah! It was positively lovely.

I Ate:
-Bagel
-Muffin
-1 girlscout cookie
-2 soy lattes
-lotsa coffee
-potato and broccoli curry with brown rice
-mango

I listened to:
-Dashboard

I read:
-My film textbook (finally)

Friday 2/29

Today was, I assure you, the kind of day where it was a mistake to get out of bed. I looked like shit so I didn't take a picture. It was that bad.

Got up around 2, waited for a bus forEVER, finally got into Oakland around 4. The only significant thing that happened was Julian and I fought with Toby for three hours. Three fucking hours. And zero progress was made. If anything I would wager that Julian and I actually managed to regress, progress-wise, because now Toby thinks everything is fine, we're all friends again, etc when really?

Not at all.

Got home at 10 and returned to bed. Attempted to convince Running Boy to come over, but that obviously did not pan out. Turned down CL Massacre, turned down Engineer Girl. Something about maybe having a boyfriend... Right.

I Ate:
-1/2 Crazy Mocha brownie
-Soy latte
-Curry from Kiva Han
-Coffee
-Kiva Han muffin

I read:
x-men

I listened to:
Elliot Smith's Basement on a Hill. Over and over and over and over...
Dashboard Confessional

Thursday 2/28

ICP SHIRT DAY!!!

Photobucket

I got tons of compliments on my tights (which are actually a black wool textured pair over a yellow pair) and, surprisingly, my t-shirt. I think most people assumed it was ironic, forgetting that nothing i do is EVER ironic.

Worked worked worked and comic'd. Picked up:

-Grimm's Fairy Tales #22
-x-Men Legacy #208
-Ultimate X-Men #'s 90&91

Got Eat Unique with Quinn of Hot Metal association. It was... well, it was. We then went to the Jonathan Safron Foer lecture. Not a terribly interesting speaker, but he did provide us with this rather amazing quote: "Writing is like pulling teeth. Out of your penis." Word.

Then! Off to the Rainbow Alliance meeting. I know, right? I'm not "rainbow" gay, but whatever. it was about gender/sexuality/labels and things, and I realized that i'm not terribly interested in having an easily defined sex or gender life, and having to define it makes me uncomfortable. I feel like my whole damn LIFE is queer, that should be enough without answering survey questions about who I sleep with. Kelly mentioned the sexual identity "sovereign", and if that word hadn't been ruined by certain groups who will remain nameless I would totally adopt it.

THEN! I was walking home, and Running Boy txt'd, and I ended up sleeping over. He is, I will say it now and I will say it 1000 more times, absolutely lovely. We had a wonderful time talking and sharing warmth and sleeping. It's definetly something I hope will happen many more times, and I see no reason it wouldn't.

I ate:
-Apple
-Plum
-2 packs maple and brown sugar oatmeal
-2/3 peanut butter and jelly sandwich
-1/2 sweet bean hummus sandwich
-small bowl of mushroom soup (eat unique's soup is deeee-vine!)
-lotsa diet pepsi

I listened to:
-Dashboard Confessional: Dusk and Summer
-Portished (Running Boy...)

I read:
x-men!

Wednesday 2/27

Today I am wearing wonderful green elf tights. See, if I have a free minute or two and want to update but don't have anyone on hand to take the day's outfit picture, i just grab a bathroom. This one is in the William Pitt Union.

Photobucket

Slow day so far. Briefly chatted with Lindsay, and am now in the CLP killing time before class.

Kanye West is amazing, and I am in love. I know I'm coming to this conclusion several years after the rest of the world, but he is really quite lovely and my favorite thing about him is how deeply uncomfortable his lyrics make me at times. For instance, my favorite song, Work It Out, is about how if African American women work really hard at starving themselves and stick to their exercise plans they someday might get the privelege of being an NBA player's wife. My, what big dreams our youth have...

More later.

I ate:
-bagel
-plum

I listened to:
Kanye West- College Drop Out
Dashboard Confessional- Dusk and Summer

I'm a bad blogger and forgot to update. I can't really remember what happened, but I wore this:

Photobucket

Whoa, messy house.

Monday 2/25

Today I am wearing fabulous blue pants.

Photobucket

Toby, Julian and I had a wonderfully delinquent "Withdraw from Classes Cupcake Party!". This is probably the best picture of me taken in a while:

Photobucket

Ran into every fucking person I've persued in the last year!!! First I talked to Hookah (of Valenhookup fame), then Grandpa Ben appeared, then Care Bear, then I got a text from Running Boy, all in about five minutes. It was sort of surreal. Hung out with Ben for a while, then migrated to seeing Lindsay, and then...

Well, and then I waited an entire evening for Running Boy to manifest so we could get dinner as per our plan as of the last time I s spoke to him, but that obviously did not happen as it is 9:30 now and i'm still sitting at Kiva Han. Whatever. I could rant about it, but it's not important. Or, at least, it won't be important a week from now.

Today I ate:
-Vegan mac and cheese from Kiva Han
-Bagel
-3 cupcakes
-cinnamon roll from Paddycake Bakery
-Coffee
-Cigarettes

I listened to:
-Death Cab for Cutie: Plains
-Boy Kill Boy (delightful!)
-Kellis, esp Handfull
-Bright Eyes: Cassadagua (not his best)
-Brittany Spears: Blackout

I Read:
-The January issue of Spin at the CLP while pirating things
-Dan Kimmon's blog
-Go Fug Yourself and Perez Hilton (I wouldn't normally count this, but i spent an awful lot of time reading it today)

Tomorrow is another day, and I assume i'll be up quite a while so hopefully something interesting will go down before i slumber. Probably just me being weepy, i'm feeling very "depressive" and less "manic" today.

Sunday, February 24, 2008

Sunday 2/24

Today was more or less a nothing day. Parted ways with Running Boy around 3, hung out with Toby, then Carebear and Toby and Julian. Eventually parted ways with Care Bear and Giant Eagle'd with Julian, Toby and Alex. Buffy the Vampire Slayer'd with Andy. Layed around in bed with Toby.

Today, in Kiva Han. I love this t-shirt, it's really lovely.

Photobucket

I Ate:
-Vegan Mac and Cheese from Kiva Han
-Bran muffin
-bagel
-1/2 c Brownie Bit ice cream
-1/2 c Mexican Hot Chocolate ice cream
-Snickers Charged (found this randomly, actually)
-White Chocolate Reese's
-Orange juice
-the last of my chocolate soy milk

I listened to:
-The Early November

Saturday 2/23

I wasn't sure how today would play out. I went to the East Liberty library, and had a mixed bad expirience. While it's awesome that none of their CD's are in the annoying plastic sleeves that require actually checking them out in order to pirate them (yay!), it smells like piss and transient. I sat there for a good hour or so pirating CD's and hating the smell.

Met up with Toby, and took this picture in his bathroom:

Photobucket

We watched Resident Evil 3 and ate pizza. It was awesome. And by watched Resident Evil clearly I mean had text-flirts with Running Boy. Eventually I convinced him to come over, and I am sure glad that I did. He is charming and lovely and everything I would want in someone i'm sharing an evening with. We talked about all sorts of things, from past relationships to life to post-modernism to ICP (which I convinced him he likes) to the future or lack thereof. Stayed up until 6 am. Nothing happened, but it was the best night i've had in a long time.

I Ate:
-vegan burrito
-1c roasted potato vegetable assortment
-1/2 Crazy Mocha brownie
-3 peices of Adrian's Pizza

I Listened to:
Brittany Spears: Blackout (!!!)
Kanye West: College dropout
The Cure: Bloodflowers
Elliot Smith: From a Basement on the Hill
The Early Novemeber

I Watched:
Philip Glass things on YouTube
Resident Evil 3

Friday 2/22

After an exhausting night on the town, I didn't get out of bed until 1 pm today. Yay! I reallllly wanted to try a dramatic red lip, and for fear of the lip clashing with one of the brights I usually wear I erred on the side of black.

Photobucket

I need to stop taking my full lengths at the 7-Eleven. Or just work less.

Speaking of work, that's all I did today. Got lunch briefly with Julian to re-cap our nights over Crazy Mocha and then straight to the salt mines. Nothing interesting to report. Will probably go home and enjoy a nice evening of music and comic books.

I Ate:
1 sugar free Red Bull
1 Vegetable Medley sandwich from Crazy Mocha
1 plain bagel with tofutti cream cheese
4 Reese's Peanut Butter cups*
1 apple
1 package fruit snacks
1/2 Nature's Path peanut granola bar

Thursday 2/21

After posting I went home and bleached my hair, the results of which are this:

Photobucket

If you don't want to see an infinite number of narcissistic pictures of me you probably shouldn't read my incredibly shallow style blog :) The kit i used worked quite nicely and overall I'm very pleased with the results. Toby came over during the dye process, we chatted until 3 am, and then i woke up at 7 to go to work. Dreadful! At work I looked like this:

Photobucket

The 7-Eleven polos are actually fairly flattering for a work uniform...

After work I Phantom of the Attic'd for new comics and picked up
-Grendel: Behold the Devil #4
-Wildstorm: Revelations #4
-Grimm's Fairy Tales #21
-X-Force #1

After that I went to the Carnegie Library to pirate new musics for my seriously anemic iPod and musical tastes.

I wanted an outfit to wear my new boots with, and came up with this:

Photobucket

I like the contrast of the yellow and green quite a lot, though I think the boots make me look stumpy.

Sat in the Kiva Han for most of the afternoon, and though the coffee is piss mud water, I'm starting to see framiliar faces and can see why people go there so much. Covered for toby at work for about 20 minutes and ran into Eric. See, Eric is one of those stoner-hipster types who is just sooooo in love with the "universe" in a way that is both charming and irritatingly naieve. We bussed home together, durring which he encouraged me to fufill my dream of becoming a tagger and gave me his half-used silver paint pen. Intriguing offer.

Went to Pegasus for the 21st annual Happy Hooker drag pageant. It was a lot of fun! I kept the green and yellow on and opted for black skinny jeans and purple Chucks. I looked very generic hipster. So generic, in fact, that at the club i ran into AZN and she was wearing the same fucking outfit only with a red shirt and a black hoodie. We ended up sort of entwined with my hands on her waist, and I really wish my iPhone had a flash because the pictures would have been stunning. She's about three inches shorter than me and I got to be all butch and shit. After a kiss goodnight (!!!) i walked home and got in at about 3:30.

Today I listened to:
Kellis, especially "Handful"
Ultimate Kylie- Kylie Minouge
The Early November- The Mother, The Mechanic and The Child

I ate:
1c green beans
1 Vegetable Masala veggie burger
1c potato wedges
Vegan Curry from Kiva Han
1/2 sweet bean hummus sandwich from Eat Unique
Small bowl tomato feta basil soup from Eat Unique*
2 packages maple brown sugar oatmeal
1 peach
1 apple
1c 7-Eleven popcorn

Didn't read or watch anything. Sad.

All in all a very good day.

Wednesday 2/20

Wednesday

Today was lovely.  Woke up around 11 am to get ready for the day.  Met up with Julian at 12 to skip my lighting class to go shopping!  We went to the Waterfront.  I love going out with Julian because we get such great reactions from people.  Julian was wearing his 4" heel ankle boots, grey/black jeans, a t-shirt in that wonderful azure blue color from American Apparel, a purple hoodie and a superbly tailored high-waisted leather biker jacket.  I was wearing this:

Photobucket

It's a trapeze dress that hits roughly three inches above the knee with pockets on the front near the bottom. Sorry for the lack of full-length picture! I was also wearing primary blue opaque tights and my new mid-calf boots from Journey's. My favorite thing is the chartreuse eyeliner... ah, Urban Decay..

Now, for us, these outfits are relatively tame.  Aside from the boots and some eye make up Julian's outfit was downright normal, and mine was not nearly as day-glo as I tend to wear these days.  But something about us throws people off and makes going anywhere together a whole lot of fun.

Shopping Aquisitions:
At Journey's I aquired a wonderful pair of mid-calf flat black sneaker-like boots for 20$.  I've been wanting a pair of these for a while as I love the way tights look with boots and only have rain boots.  While adoreable, rain boots are simply not appropriate for everyday wear.  Jules and I had a lovely time driving the shop girl crazy by being ourselves, which is to say trying on a million pairs of shoes and being outspoken about everything, ie CLEAR Chuck Taylors!?!?  Who the hell would wear clear shoes!?!

Then off to Ulta, where I broke down and got an Urban Decay eyeshadow sampler.  It has nine lovely shades of brights that I'll wear as eyeliner and have a ball with.  Oh, Urban Decay, how you are going to have all my money....  I'm amused that Cory Kennedy is their new "it" girl, she really looks like shit in the photos they have of her on the display.  Again, had fun terrifying the Ulta woman.  She seemed like someone's mom and her eyes nearly bugged out of her head.

At Target I aquired a few shades of assorted red lip things, including a lipstick in something called "Target Red".  Hopefully one of them works out, as I REALLY want to do an all black outfit with smokey eye and red lips tomorrow.  Also aquired bleach kits, and will be bleaching when I get home, provided it's not too late in the day.

Then off to TGI Friday's for lunch.  Oh dear, worst idea ever.  Portion sizes were enormous, everything was recently frozen and nothing was especially tasty.  In fact, Julian and I both got sick.  Vegan options would have been limited to bare bones salad so I sad fuck it, it's a special occasion and boy oh boy was that a bad idea.  Afterwards we Kiva Han'd and read fashion blogs while nursing huge tummy aches.

Film class was boring.  I fell asleep during the film (again).  Txt'd AZN to hopefully meet up with her this evening, but she was hookah bar-ing and we shall see.  Txt'd Hookah to see if he wanted to booty call this evening, but he was at the Symphony and seemed cool to the idea.  Could it be that my hot Hungarian sex freak grew a conscience?

Anyway, What I Ate Today:
-2 Red Velvet cupcakes
-4 TGI's mozzarella sticks
-1/2 entre at TGI's of "Dragonfire Chicken" or whatever it was called
-1 slice Peanut Butter Pie at TGI's
-1 16oz regular Red Bull
-1 Peppermint Tea
-1 sugar free red bull
-1c blueberries and blackberries
-1/2 carrot cake Odwalla bar
-1 medium godawful Kiva Han coffee

I Watched:
Alphaville (French New Wave film)
Eireville (recent Irish take on Alphaville)

I Listened to:

Meet Alden

As part of my goal to live more intentionally, I'm starting this blog.

You, dear reader, will have the chance to witness my entire life. You will know what I'm wearing, what I ate, what I did when and with whom, who I'm dating (or not dating) and anything else you could want. If you have a question, ask. It will be answered.

My life is intentional, therefore everything I do is done with the intention of seeing, being seen and living the best life I can possibly live, having the most fun I can possibly have. It's post-modernism in the flesh. There is no identity, only the self- I'm quite fond of myself and I think you will be, too. Watch me evolve.

My blog title? Do as the Vikings. Conquer cities, towns, obstacles, challenges. Take what you will from them- pillage them, destroy them, burn them. And move on. Leave nothing behind. No regrets.

And then be re-born from the ashes...
